Do the Authorized Dealers in the USA receive inventory direct from Rolex, Switzerland. Or, is there as USA-based Rolex warehouse or two from which an AD receives their new stock inventory as well as customer special orders ?

All I can say is that my AD orders them and they get shipped from Switzerland to NY. Some watches take 3 weeks--some take 12--depends on which watch. He gets his in via USPS from Rolex in NY. He told me that the Post office in NY could not handle the volume and they ended up routing through Long Island interestingly enough. He lastly said that he has experienced delays from Rolex since the change.

The shipments come from NYC.

USA AD's get their shipments from Rolex USA.

Rolex USA is the US Distributor and their watches are sent from Rolex Geneva. If a special order is placed and it arrives in 3-4 weeks it is in stock at Rolex USA. If you are quoted a longer time frame like 12 weeks this means the watch is not in stock at Rolex USA and has to come from Geneva to them.
