Buggered Up Band Screws

I am the proud owner of a GMT IIc, which is less than two years old. I am wearing it daily and it is slowly gaining a patina of 'honest wear'.
Unfortunately, it now has buggered up band screw heads.

Against my better judgement, I took it to a non-AD jeweler for resizing and the band screws ended up the worse for the experience. The nearest AD is 400 miles away.
Thank the maker that the band is OK and only the screw heads are damaged.
Last visit there (to the AD 400 miles away), the very nice sales lady said the screws look rough but should be OK.

I agree, however it bugs me so I need to address the problem.

I didn't bother the ask the AD if they can replace the screws. Is that something that ADs are trained in and offer as a service to Rolex owners?
Whether or not they charge is irrevalant as I just would like it done by someone who knows what they are doing and can sucessfully complete the job.

I have considered getting the aftermarket screws and a good set of Bergeon drivers, as discussed numerous times on TRF. Still might go that route.

Will be on Maui in early January. Any recommendations for an AD or watchmaker on Maui?

Thanks to everyone for all the great information on this forum.

I can assure you that the AD might not have done a better job; that is why I always do the adjustment myself. The AD have staff that could be experience in sales and customer service and majority would not know the screws are glued. Even if they know in the AD they might not the equipment to heat up the screw ends before unscrewing the pin.

If the screws are loose now then buy some replacement screws from Rolex and get them to send them to you in the post. Or get them to send to the AD and the AD forward to you.

Replacement screws are easy enough to get hold of, they charge £2.50 each for them over here, I'm sure they'd be a comparable price in the US too

I would think that most Dealers have some spare screws in their adjustment kit...

Look for a Dealer with a watchmaker on staff.. Or take yours out and give them a bit of polishing...

Yes they have at least 2 Rolex ADs in Maui. You should be able to get their address and telephone info from the Rolex website. Don't know that they would have the screws but you could always call them before you go.

I will check with the Maui ADs...

I will check with the Maui ADs and see I get a warm fuzzy
(I.E.: they know to warm the screws before removing them, have the right lock tight, correct screws in stock, etc...).
If not, I will see if I can find a jeweler in Maui with a Rolex parts account who can do the work, while I wait.

I really hope to not have to send it in somewhere for this.
I am confident I can do the work myself with the right set of materials and tools, if I have to...

The two ADs I visited last year in Maui were very friendly and had a great selection. Especially of the sport models. Most likely for all the diving that occurs there.

Maui has Baron and Leeds... very nice place and I'm sure they can help you out. Just make sure to call to see which of their branches has the repair shop.

You could also get them to order you in a Seadweller screwdriver ref 2110. They can be ordered as a spare part and fit the screws better than any other screwdriver you can buy. Over here in the UK, they cost approx £13

The Ref 2110 is only £13? Can I order it from Rolex?
