Jeweler Mutual Insurance
I've just signed up. Super easy and only took 15mins online to setup. I feel so much better with the piece of mind that if anything were to happen, I would be taken care of. Hopefully I never have to face this situation. Has anyone ever had experience with this company? They just came to Canada from the US as well.

I've seen lots of good comments on here on this company.
Is the signup all online, or do you have to bring the watch in to an office so they can verify you have it in your possession? |

I'd love to know if seomone who uses them ever had to file a claim, and how did they handle it?
Now that'd be worth hearing about. DW |

Good question. I don't quite see how they could have an all online signup process without encouraging fraud, but maybe the online setup mentioned by the OP is just the first step. In my experience insurance companes want to physically see and photograph the watch and also have an appraisal in hand.

I was required to send in an appraisal from my jeweler with serial number, model, etc. prior to them binding coverage. My jeweler highly suggested them. His store had been robbed and he was very happy with how the claim was handled. You can also receive a substantial discount if items are stored in a safe deposit box (you can remove items up to something like 30 days during the year, but you must notify them ahead of time....or no claim for loss).

I had to send an appraisal that was dated within 18 months. I uploaded the scanned copy. It was pretty easy

Ironically, JMI is based across town in Appleton, WI. I drive past the somewhat large building daily. I haven't heard anything bad about it since living here since 1989.

JM is very reasonable, I've used them for jewelry (wife's diamonds) never had a claim to test the policy.....I found that after you spend the money for premiums, appraisals and upkeep...........and maybe it's my preference.......a good safe or safe deposit box, routine maintenance and accepting more of the risk, makes more sense......unless you're into PN Daytona's, or other high end collectables. You might check with your homeowners policy carrier for competitive rates.
