Very nice that your dad left it to you. Sorry you had to lose him. I know what you mean about talking about him helps. I found the same when my dad died eight years ago.
Time doesn't change that he's gone, but does make it easier to deal with the loss. Your memories are the most important thing and wearing his watch will bring back those memories every day. Keep the watch in good shape and just think maybe one day you can pass it on to your child( if you have any. ). All the best to you and your family.

It's always nice to have something to remind you of your father when he passes. I have a couple of special things myself, although they are not watches they feel real special to me because they where my dads.

My sincere condolences to you and your family. That watch must be very precious to you. I'm quite sure you will cherish it forever. I wish to do the same for my son somewhere down the line.

Welcome to TRF Allan and sorry you had to get your Rolex in this manner. But, you will have many memories of your father every time you glance at the watch you wear in his honor. I'm sure this watch will become more valuable to you with each passing day.

Allan, welcome to TRF... sorry for your loss. It sounds like you had a great and loving relationship with your Dad. I have a Gruen pocket watch, and a Lord Elgin wristwatch that I like to look at, and wear when I think of my Dad. Best wishes to you and family.
