I Am Going Crazy!!!!!
All my ROlex watches are pretty new, over the last 6 months. Of course have always wanted a Rolex and dreamed of having one over the last 20 years. But, just over the last year was able to financially earn enough money to buy several. I have always been a WIS in general.
Well, now I thought I was through, but the Datejust and Explorer II are calling me! I am actually seriously considering trading in my Sub LV and GMT II for the DJ and Exp II. I love the Exp II black face I have. LIke the 39mm size, the sloped SS engraved bezel. Need to get the White face to go along with it. Also like the DJ, with the new beefier case, better illum and new bracelet. Only issue there is silver dial or black dial. Very classic and traditional. Could probably trade both in and get both at not much loss, due to redcued price of DJs here in BKK compared to USA. I do really like the maxi dial on the Sub LV and finally got the Black bezel insert. May end up keeping and just trade in the GMT II, can always get a GMT again if I need. I do like how the EXP II and DJ just melt into the wrist. I do not really like hwo the Sub has the thicker case back that makes it sit up higher, and the extra thick bracelet clasp that it comes with. Maybe should have not bought the IWC UTC, but then again, I am wearing that watch alot! Really love the bracelet, the non-reflective glass, plus IWC was the one other brand that I always wanted. Oh well, rambelling on. But the ADs are getting tired of seeing me and the hot looking banes that work at the Hotels lobby/reception just do not understand my fascination with watches! |

I sound like you, I often think about which Rolex I like best, and if I should trade one in to get another. I have only flipped two of my Rolex watches and I am sorry I did, I miss them. If it were me I would hold off and wait. The LV is still not that easy to get (in my view) grey dealers have tons of them but I still have yet to see an LV in a case (with the exception of the one I bought in Hawaii) in any of the ADs I have recently been to, this includes the Wynn in Las Vegas. The sales woman said they rarely get them and when they do get a LV Sub a sales person usually buys the watch. If the rumor ever comes a reality and Rolex stops production of the LV Sub. It might be close to impossible to get another one. If it were me I would save up and buy another Rolex. What a rush it is to save for a long period of time, then when the day arrives going to your Rolex dealer and buying a Rolex. For me it is the completion of a goal and it feels like Christmas when I was a kid. Just my two cents. |

Get 'em now while they are hot...
I saw an LV in the front display window at a large AD in a mall yesterday. |

Yeah, I think I will keep the LV. Probably will trade in the GMT for a datejust. Then save up and buy a White faced Exp II.
If I get another high paying job, have to buy the 40mm GP Seahawk and IWC Mark 16 Pilots watch. I am a WIS lunatic fanatic!!! LOL |
