travelling with a 14060 : ever said " wish I had the date.."

I'm arranging this cool thing with the seller that will hand me it's 14060 at the airport before boarding on my intercontinental flight. Being a Gshock/ SD guy I'm afraid I could find myself in needing of a date while I travel, even if my android would be a good backup. Quite annoying....or it is not ??

Folks who are in the habit of "looking at their wrist for today's date" find themselves wanting that crutch on all of their time pieces..........

Those of us who can remember that today is the 2nd of December, or whatever, love watches like the 14060, 5513, or Daytona.....

Have a great trip............ and an even better Rolex adventure........

Forgive me for asking but if you need a watch with a date why are you buying one without?

Confused...

I have no need for knowing what the date is when I'm on holiday, nor do I care to know either

I'd much rather have a watch with no date. I can figure out what day it is in the morning and should be able to remember all day. No alzheimers yet!

The date feature is a waste of mechanical effort. I prefer the clean, classic lines/face of a dateless watch.

Before we had mobile phones, Macs, iPods, iPads, etc. the date was perhaps more difficult to keep up with for some. Who needs the date feature in today's modern times?

Even with the magnifying cyclops, once you hit 45 years, you won't be able to see it anyway!

I wear my 14060 every day (of the working week).

If I forget the date, a glance at my iPhone saves this old fella some embarrassment.

With TV, newspaper, internet, phone etc, I'm pretty well aware what day it is without cluttering up my watch.

When I look at my Daytona I rarely look at the time so I really don't miss the date.

When ever I think it would be nice to have a date function on my watch I remind myself how often I refer to it on my quartz watches.
Never.

There are so many other places you can find the date. Infact that goes for the time too so surely you want something that looks nice. The 14060m looks gorgeous!

By this logic then...who really even needs a watch to tell the time?

HA! My 14060M for the time and beauty of it and my android Droid X for the date.

I find that I'm in my google calendar on the phone a fair amount so I usually know what the date is. However, I don't always care what day it is but I always want a great timepiece on my wrist!

(5) watches NO date
(5) watches w/date
(2) watches w/day-date

BTW, you'll love the 14060M - IMHO....

Not having the date crutch is what keeps me from going for the 14060 (or Daytona for that matter). Good to know those who have it don't really miss it.
