Can I get a Corvus Bond Nato elsewhere cheaper??
I'm going to buy a few Nato's for my sub. I really like the two Bond's Corvus produce and was going to buy both (grey and olive). They look great and aren't exactly pricey.
That said at $39 each they do appear to be almost double quality offerings elswhere which typically seem to be around/under $20. Anyhoo here's the link to what I was going to buy; http://www.corvuswatch.com/index.asp?page=watchbands I guess they ship for free and I am all the way down in New Zealand. As an aside I just bought an Oris Big Crown on steel bracelet. Do you think this'd look good on either a plain black or possibly stripped Bond Nato? http://www.oris.ch/collections/colle...en&modelid=292 await advice guys. Can't wait for my sub to come back from it's service. I had gone off it a bit having worn it for c12yrs, since it's been away I've been really really missing it and want it back and on a Bond Nato before xmas! Thanks for your advice. |

Hi Danny, there was a recent thread about the same strap, you will find it if you do a search.
Since you are quite far away from the company, you'd obviously want to make sure everything is okay. |

I wouldn't waste my time. Thy are cheap and fray very easily. Do a search here and you'll fine an overwhelming number of complaints about their quality.

Try this seller on Ebay. I have the Correct Bond version and it is very high quality. The seams/folds for the attachments are heat welded rather than sewn. Seems to be of a better quality material than my other Natos too.
He has two versions of it, the REAL one has the olive grey and the other a more neutral grey. I have the more neutral grey one, called Correct. http://shop.ebay.com/bicycleman/m.html Here is mine in use. Last edited by robsteve; 4 December 2010 at 09:25 AM.. Try my Ebay guy. They are not as high quality as the Maratac straps, but for ~$7 apiece..........they are tough to beat

Hi Danny, firstly to answer your question...try signing up for their forum and than pull the coupon code. I also suggest getting on the email list where from time to time they will tell you about discounts Now, I am going to provide an opposing view... I have two Corvus straps the older version which is now two years old and in relatively excellent shape... the tang hole that I use on the older version did fray and it will again... but guess what, a little flick of a bic and viola, you're good to go. The older version strap is no longer available... they have beefed up the strap and I have worn the new version 95% of the time that I have owned it...guess what, no fraying yet; knock wood ha. I play hard and my milage has been great With that said....you'll find plenty of other vendor/suppliers with a great variety and at a cheaper cost; btw I have other straps myself

Is that the Marathon with the plastic case? I thought they were not designed for swimming in, just splash proof.. I can't understand why anyone would want to pay 39$ for a nylon strap. I have Maratac straps, good quality and good value.

I believe this is the company that supplies Corvus.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Brand-NEW-Styl...item1c176b4c44 There are softer straps out there, but this is what you were looking for!! Peter |

The plastic versions are water proof too. I think it is just cautious sellers that warn about swimming with them. They still have a form of seal which may be twin seals. The tube has an o-ring in it and the crown has a grove in it that fits over the tube and has a seal in it. The water pressure would press the crown against this secondary seal. I think they are rated 3ATM. As for the Bond Nato I have it on, it was $16.99. This is quite a bit cheaper than the Corvus and it is a very high quality material. Robert |
