TRF COMES THROUGH SAVES MY GMT IIc!

I just wanted to give a shout out to "pyxis" who, was able to provide simple advice to fix my nagging, GMT IIc bracelet sizing issue...

Couldn't be happier. Any newbies on the site, always have faith...someone out there on TRF can help you!

Short story: my gmt IIc just did not fit right, with one link removed and the fine adjustment on loosest notch. It was too tight. With the link back in and the fine adjustment pushed all the way in... it was way too loose. However, thanks to advice received on the forum, I moved one link from the 6pm size to the 12 side... now have 4 links on 6pm size and 7 on 12 side. It is just right, and looser. Also gives me the ability to move the fine adjustment in one notch if needed as time goes on.

THANKS TRF

Why does moving a link to the other side affect size? Can anyone explain?

My brother is having an issue with his Expy and I would like to see if this could remedy that.

It has to do with how the clasp is centered on the inner wrist. The general rule is to have a shorter length on the 6 side, longer length on the 12 side. The centering of the clasp affects how the watch face sits on the outer wrist. Some people have had luck reversing the clasp, but still the shorter length should be on the 6 side. Hope this makes sense....

OP.....Did you have to remove a permanent link?...I thought the minimum amount of links was 5 the last one having a screw and being the connection point to the clasp....intrigued

To the OP: Nice to see that you found a solution!

Bill: On the new style Oyster bracelets there are more removable links on the 6 o'clock side, than earlier.

Best,

A

Edit: I just saw that my post count reached a great Explorer number: 1655.

Good to hear you got your GMTIIc sorted! I love this watch and luckily didn't have any bracelet sizing problems myself. Wear it now and enjoy!

I Just wanna say thanks for this post as it finally solved one of my biggest issue I had with GMTc, the fit is now as good as my Submariner.
