DJ for Dress?
I've been reading alot of people say that the SS DJ is a more dressier watch. I have one and wear it every where and everyday ( Just not the gym to play ball) I usually am wearing jeans/khakis and a polo, or less sometimes and never leave the house with out the DJ.
What do you guys think? When do you wear yours? Mike |

I agree with you, I feel a SS DJ can be used for every day or for more formal.
As of late, I have worn my Sea-Dweller more than my SS DJ. |

But, hey, what's stopping you from wearing any watch with any dress wear - casual or formal?!!

All I have to say, Mike, is that you have impeccable taste in watches. The DJ on Jubilee is a cracker. How about some pics, pal?

Can't take the credit, my dad picked it out as it was a gift for me! He says " Where it everyday!" So I do.
He wears a DD YG Presidential everyday, no matter at the office or in the garden. So Ive just been custom to seeing DJ/DD worn everyday. As everybody in my family owns a DJ! To be perfectly honest, I never knew there was any other Rolex's besides the DJs and DDs Mike EDIT : I'll have pics tomorrow JJ !!!!!! Last edited by mlb; 11 April 2007 at 04:14 PM.. Reason: . |

Typically I would wear my DJ w/ a suit and my GMT II for all other occasions. Having said that, I've also done it in reverse.

Don't get me wrong! I love the DJ, but for me the Sub's are an all around wear watch, SS Sub for every day wear, and TT Sub for a more formal affair's.

IMO, you can wear the DJ anywhere, anytime. One of my partners has an SS DJ that he wears all the time. A friend of mine has a YG DD that he also wears all the time.
I tend to wear my TT DJs more for dress (with a suit) than I do for sport. But I have been known to mix and match - I've worn my all black GMT with a suit, and a DJ or my YG DD with jeans. Just depends on my mood that day. That's the fun of having more than one. You get to choose which one to slap on the wrist that day.

Similar Situation
I have been wearing my new DJ exclusively because my Omega has been in the shop.
I find that if I am wearing business clothes, or even just a long sleeve shirt, the watch looks both stunning and appropriate. However, on the weekend in shortsleeves, the watch can look a little too formal to my eye, and for me, somewhat small on my bare arm. It is SS Oyster with the white gold bezel. With the polished center links, it has a little bit of a bling factor. The obvious answer for me is to purchase a GMT II! However, that is going to have to wait until early 2008 at earliest, so I have been thinking of moving the Omega Seamaster back to its rubber band, for a sportier look. Truthfully, I like the idea of a watch to wear everyday. However, when I do the mirror check, my DJ looks like it wants a sleeve near it. My suggestion would be to check yourself out in the mirror to see if you are okay with the look. If you are, wear it all the time. It will become a part of you. Cheers! Al |

I'd agree with JJ - the Jubilee's more dressy, while the Oyster's more versatile. I'd wear my DJ with a polo shirt, but if I'm pottering about in a T-shirt and bermudas, it's gotta be either my SD or my Tudor.
