I heard "warranty" only covers product malfunction (watch not moving, extreme time-keeping variances etc), so it's likely most warranties are never used.

I'm sure you can make something up and send it in hehe

But seriously, buying new gives you a "perfect" watch instead of getting it "used".

Also, you have the warranty in case you ever need it. With a used watch out of warranty, you don't have this luxury - except the watch

Buying new gets you one thing, a "ding-free" watch!

I thought the original warranty is TWO years. Am I wrong?

Warranties protect you from manufacturing defects or catastrophic failure for a reasonable length of time and ensures that the manufacturer is putting out a product that is lasting.. they are "warrantied to be free of manufacturing defects".

It is not a free overhaul or scratch removal service and so I wonder what you mean by "take advantage of"...

If your watch is not performing within standards, then the watch would be regulated under warranty, but they won't perform a full service nor will they refinish the case and bracelet under warranty on a "just becaue" basis..
