Anyone dealt with Windsor Jewelers?
Hi folks,
Been lurking here and reading while trying to decide between a AT w/ 8500 or a PO w/ 2500. Thanks so much for all the excellent info and discussion. Having finally decided on the AT, I attempted to place my order with Windsor Jewelers, purportedly in Dyer, Indiana. I chose Windsor from a number of online sites because of their seriously low price (discount of 46% on the watch + 10% on all orders). They do not claim to be an AD but DO claim that their watches are all purchased from AD's and thus the OM warranty is effective, etc. I tried to place my order via telephone and could not get anything but an answering machine. So, I decided to see how it would be to place an online order. After filling out all the registration information (name, rank, serial number) I got to the point that I expected to be asked for my credit card info, only to be prompted to "Check your email". The email says that in order to provide their customers with these amazing prices, the only way I can pay for this is via a Western Union Money order sent to an address in the UK. Ummmmmm... huh? Anyone heard of such a thing before? If it IS legitimate and not a scam, then maybe it is a way to skirt Omega's war on the gray marketeers in the U.S.. Anyway, my order is "placed" and I left a message on the machine at Windsor's, so... I guess no harm no foul until I hear from them, but I was hoping someone here might have experience with these folks at Windsor. Thanks again for the cool forum and the great community. Cheers, Drum |

That sounds like a scam if I ever heard one.

That was easy, check out Windsors website and pay attention to the red warning box in the lower right hand corner.

Hi guys,
Thanks for your replies and thanks for the messages. I did a little bit more digging after posting this thread and found out that this Windsor Jewelers is a scam site based upon an actual (and presumably honest) store in Indiana. Anyway, I should have done so more research before posting this here. Suffice it to say, this online store is a scam and should be avoided. Funny, I got an email from them yesterday asking me where my payment was. I replied and told them to stop scamming people. Cheers and thanks again, D |

The only Windsor Jewelers I have ever dealt with is in Augusta, GA. Good luck with that.

Drum, welcome and good that you didn't lose any money here.
Although I am new, Rolex and Western Union definitely do not mix. |

I wish google would remove them from their froogle search results. And there is another site that looks like it is probably the same scammer since it has the same webserver and similar pricing. Does anyone know how to contact google to request that a vendor is removed?
