The Decider. Please advise

Hey Guys

I'm a sucker for when a Rolex gets discontinued. I know I should've purchased it when it was widely available, but oh well.

Anyways, I've got a Sub LV 16610LV and have been hankering over a Black 16610.

There's one come up as BNIB but I don't know what to do? The AD has offered me £3000 on part ex'ing my LV, but as he's priced the Sub 16610 at £3999, that would mean that I've got to stump up the extra £999 to complete a deal.

So, am I crackers to be looking to go down this route and should stick with the LV, which is in it's own right a fantastic watch, and a future classic, or for arguments sake do I look to part ex the LV, add the additional funds and own the old style black sub?

I'm not into changing bezels on the LV. I know many of you guys do and praise the look highly, but for me the LV was released with the green bezel and that's how I like to keep things - Original, and as they were intended.

Would appreciate your votes and advice.

Cheers

J

Save up and get a pre-owned 16610 black sub.

Stick with the LV and find a black bezel so you could swap.

your LV is 10 times more interesting than the black 16610

Save and buy a black one too, but selling a 16610LV fot a regular 16610 is imo a big mistake

As I'm sure your aware you have a 16610 already. Only yours imho is slightly better due to the Maxi dial. I know your not interested in changing the bezel insert but it really is the sensible thing to do here.
It will have a serious affect on the look of your watch and its very easily done. Any friendly watchmaker should be able to change it over for you while you wait. Assuming you don't want to do it yourself.
I think you will love the new look of your LV for allot less money than changing for the less interesting model.

Not to mention that you can swap bezels with the LV. May not be exactly the same but pretty darn close.

I agree! I know you aren't into changing bezels but it can always be changed back in a flash. It would really be better to do that than spend a thousand pounds and loose your LV better to put the thousand pounds toward the other watch if you are so inclined.

If you have to ask that question you are not worthy enough to own an LV.

Keep the LV. You might regret later since that too is discontinued. Further, there are more 16610's out there in the wild than there are LV's.

Good Luck!

There is no way I would part with an LV sub for a 16610. Nope, just wouldn't do it. Why don't you find a genuine black bezel insert here on the forum and then swap out for a change??

Save up and get a regular 16610, but don't sell/trade the LV to get it

Love the LV! If I didn't like vintage so much I'd flip my 1680 for an LV! I love the look...

I would recommend sourcing a black bezel...then you have two amazing watches for the price of one...well, almost.
