Icon3 Vintage Seekers Magazine: The James Bond Issue (including Ian Fleming's Rolex)

Online edition just came out today--

And yeah, sure, there's a lot in this special James Bond issue on lifestyle, wine, interview with Lindy Hemming (of Omega watch selection fame) on clothing for the Bond girls, commentary by Jeff Deaver (the Ian Fleming novel successor whose Carte Blanche 007 story will be published this May).

But I thought you all would indulge me a bit in emphasizing the feature article on James Bond watches.

They approached me to do an interview after the National Watch & Clock Museum "Bond Watches, James Bond Watches" exhibit opened last summer. That, then, took a few months to coordinate. And then (no surprise to anyone on TRF), they saw that this easily opened the door to a dedicated issue on Our Man.

Here's the link to the complete Vintage Seekers Magazine online (free).

The photo called-up here for the screen-capture above is Ian Fleming's one and only James Bond watch, of course: The Rolex 1016 Explorer. As I say when I do tours of the exhibit, I personally couriered this from its top-secret location where it was otherwise held by Fleming family heirs, to the Museum. The background documentation is from the date of its arrival.

Scroll through the other images on Vintage Seekers for what actually is the first image of all known James Bond watch brands, including Mr Fleming's actual watch at its center.

Mrs James Bond Watches is there as well, from last September when she moderated James Bond Jeopardy at the National Watch & Clock Museum for our "Bond Enthusiasts Weekend."

And for those of you who haven't had a chance to see the key players that brought the exhibit together, there's a photo of Bob Ridley, Noel Poirier, and me on opening night.

Thanks for letting me share this here!
