for 58 you can choose a few ..

6536, 6536/1, 5508 (small crowns more affordable), 5510, 6538 (big crowns rrarer and hence more expensive)...and then all the dial variations within them...anything in particular or just inspiration for whats available from birth year ... 58 is a nice year for 5510 as its the only year of production...

ps. big big spread on price ...cheap 5508 with service dial 10kus ...5510 RAN (royal australian navy) 369 ...200kus ....

That is REALLY beautiful!
I LOVE the big crown, that thing does not look
like it has ever even been polished

It is so nice to see pieces like that actually in the real world
not just in some bank vault or case.

Wear that in good health!!!!

The 4 line Subs are chronometers (COSC). Notice the first Sub pictured has 4 lines of text below the hands. The second Sub pictured has 2 lines of text. Even though the non-COSC Subs are not certified they still generally keep time within COSC standards. Some people prefer the 4 line dials while other feel the 2 line dials are cleaner looking. Either way, they are all good.

Awesome...

Both of the watches displayed in this thread so far are truly spectacular!

I'd certainly love to have one from my birth year of 1955...but then again, I'd also like to have a 1955 Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing Coupe!

Hey, a guy can dream, right?

Some 2 line watches actuallly are also COSC(early examples) and came with COSC papers--I know as I have one. The 4 line watches are far rarer and therfeore cost far more. No true colletor would prefer a 2 to a 4 line--sorry --not at this level---Errr unless it was a rare specimen as buddy Jedly showed above! It comes down to rarity and collectibility! JMHO!!

** It is also impossible to find one in mint condtion with perfect dials--just not out there!! So--Price is very expensive as Jed pointed to above!

Conner - I've seen pics of your watch before, but had no idea of the age. It is stunning and is in such pristine condition.

it seems like only yesterday that I dreamed of finally getting a no-crown guard sub..I have had several dozen since then and it really hasnt been that long..
moral to the story::
keep dreaming and keep saving..when your truly ready for one the watches will come!
