Best watch under 3k?

Any brand... could be quartz or mechanical... what would be best watch under 3k? Or a watch that you can buy under 3k but has higher sticker price?

I am thinking about getting a watch for my brother, but the budget is under 3k.

U can get a new seiko Marine Master, for around 2600. Outstanding in house movement and it's a tank of a sports watch. Would be my choice in that price range for new.

Take a look at the Omega SMP 2254.50. Great looking watch and can be found used in the $1500-$2000 snack bracket depending on condition and accessories. Speedmaster is another great Omega that can be had used for $1500-$2500 depending on condition and the particular version.

Rolex are fantastic watches but hard to get anything used that looks good for under $3000. Good luck with the hunt.

Exp II is a great choice as is the Exp I. Slightly above your budget but worth the stretch.

The ROLEX AIR KING I am putting up for sale very very soon. 1991 Silver dial Jubilee bracelet. Serviced at NYC RSC. Looks like brand new. A great "starter" Rolex.

omega speedy or PO...NOTHING IMHO beats them at this price point
Another one I would seriously consider is the Longines Legend Diver...and its not that popular here on TRF but Rado r5.5 has really caught my fancy lately

attached is a pic of the Rado...its very smart and different...I like it

+-3k is more or less the bread and butter category of Omega, Breitling, Tag Heuer, Oris, Longines, Ball, Fortis, Baume and Mercier.

Tons of watches to choose from.

Try checking out www.prestigetime.com www.jomashop.com and some other online stores for more ideas.

I just got myself a Ball watch, albeit not this one, but I have my eye on this one next, and it retails right around 3k but can be had for much less.

If you look hard enough, you can get a Rolex Sub or Panerai 24 or 112

First, I would check out used Rolex Datejust and Explorer I and II. Also, Tudor Chronograph can be bought for that amount, and that`s best option IMHO.
There is really great variety of watches in that price range, and you can`t go wrong with Tudor, Omega, Breitling...

And, as kmangino47 said, Seiko Marinemaster is really something special!
