IWC 3717 Straps

I just acquired a 3717-01. I love it! Not a big fan of the strap though. I would probably switch to an aftermarket.

My only concern is the strap size. The width measures in at 21mm. Now, I've read from others that a 22mm strap can be used? Is this true? Any particular manufacturers and/or material that are more 'forgiving' than others?

Greatly appreciate your input.

22m can definitely be used. Wasn't a fan of the black croc strap either.........bought a 22mm black leather with conrasting red stitching strap (picks up the little red hand in the sub dial near the 9) along with brushed steel rivets (like on the Big Pilot Strap) from a TW Steel watch. Only cost about $60.00 and I get stopped once or twice a week asking me about it. Most people that know the 3717 can't believe I have a strap with rivets.

Anyway, 22m is no problem. Enjoy!!!!

JOe, Congrats on your recent pickup. I know you'll enjoy yours as much as i do mine.

Luv to see some PICs of both of your watches if and when you get a chance.

Thanks! Good to know. Finding 21mm straps is a pain in the a$$!

Congrats on the pick-up.

Really depends on what type of leather is used. If its soft and flexible enough, you would have no problems squeezing in a 22mm. Though, there are also aftermarkets with a 21mm dimension,so, you might want to take a look at them to.

Here's my 3717 on its OEM strap with matching color stitching:

Here it is on Hadley ROma 22mm. with contrast stitching:

Ever since I got the one with contrast stitching, I have not returned to its OEM strap.

Nice shots and nice strap kabayan! I also like the contrast stitching (blk w/ white) and have it on a couple of my watches.

Get the Kevlar strap. It's extra nice.
