I like the way the Omega SP looks, it has a very interesting history as the only watch originally approved by NASA and the watch that went to the moon.
I don't own one yet, however I am seriously considering purchasing one soon.

My grail Omega is a vintage Ploprof. My buddy has one and took it diving on our last dive trip together. It was AMAZING. It is a rather strange-looking watch, but it just looks so right on a dive boat. REALLY cool. His was totally redone by Omega service center a year or so ago. Here is the underwater picture that I took of it.
I WANT ONE!!!!! (BTW, thanks Stevo for your generosity )

Great giveaway Steve ! (I know I'm not qualified to enter this, but I'd still felt I had to share a bit on my Omega history :) )
I've been into Omega watches since the late 1990's. Ever since I saw "James Bond" wear that blue Seamaster I just HAD to have one. At that time, I could NO means afford one, so I saved for about a year until I was financially able to afford one (since, at the time Goldeneye came out, I was only 10 lol). At that point (probably back in 2002 or so), I went to my nearest Omega AD, and bought my first brand new 2531.80. That would later on lead to an entire new world of watches. Since then I've owned a Rolex Sub, Planet Ocean, sold my first Omega, only to buy another 2531.80 back in 2005. Watches are my deep passion, and, now at 25 still have a LOT of collecting left to do. My two current Omegas (in my Sig.) not only signify great quality watches, but a LOT of time / hunting / saving for them as well. Which, as it turns out (the hunting part lol), lead me here several years ago. Now I get to share my passion will all the people here at TRF. (Made TONS of new friends from around the world, even meeting some of them at GTG's). Good luck to all ! Mike |

My favorite Omega? That's like asking which of my daughters is my favorite.
But here are the four "untouchable" Omegas in my collection: The 105.012 which is the same model worn by Armstrong and other moon-walkers and that makes it special. Then there's the Liquidmetal that I traded for sight-unseen. It's an elegant beauty that must be seen in-the-steel to be appreciated. For fun, there's the 2255.80 "electric blue" that always brightens my day and makes me smile. Last, but not least, is my 18k RG bumper automatic from 1950 shown here on its "rainbow" (YG, WG, RG) mesh bracelet. I call it my "special occasion" watch as I worn it when I was ordained to the priesthood, when my bishop was consecrated, and when I performed the marriage ceremony of our oldest daughter. Fr. I like Omega because they are innovative, co-axial, 8500 movement, clear casebacks, Olympic timing, etc.

Great giveaway Steve: Thankyou.
I like Omega because (IMO) they give all the 'feel good factor' of wearing a Rolex for a fraction of the cost..... & I know this is gonna sound maybe kinda 'design geek'y (?) but I actually admire/appreciate? the 'tapered shoulders' that (again IMO) make the larger-faced watches wear a lot smaller than one would imagine. I also like the widely available display casebacks & although the orange PO's are hardly discreet I also value the 'stealth factor' of many Omegas. I don't have it yet so apologies for the downloaded pic' but my favourite Omega's the one Chris (The GMTMaster) currently has set aside for me..... the PO XL 2208.50.00.

After school and working a few years, I bought matching connies for my parents. Dad always admired an Omega, but could never afford one. I have had it now since 2001, and my wife has worn my mother's since 2003. The Gmt was last year, just because...

Although I don't own one ... yet, I like Omega for their quality and classic style. My next purchase will be a birth year Omega.

I like Omega for some of their great movements and a classy straightforward look. My Seamaster AT fits the bill nicely.
Thanks for the "contest."

Stevo,
You're the man. Another great give away. I've always been a fan of Omega and their history. My father has had his 14K 1952 Omega Seamaster in daily use for just shy of 60 years! It still looks great! (Not his, but this one is the same. It's surprisingly difficult to find a photo of a similar applied number gold omega with the fat lugs.)

Great give-aways Steve! I don't know what I like the most with Omega. Probably their heritage and the connection with the moon, but of course also becuase of the connection with Bond. I have always been a Bond fan and hope to own an Omega one day!

I do not own an Omega yet but when I do it will be a Speedy on a 2 foot long Nato strap.
What is more amazing and adventurous than a trip to the moon? Borrowed photo of Jack Swigert one of the Apollo 13 astronauts. Lovell, Swigert and Haise.

I remember the first Omega I ever saw in person. I was on boot leave in late 1967 and my father and I went to a jewelry store in Texarkana, Texas, to get me a new Speidel Romunda for whatever watch I had at the time. Romundas were quite popular at the time.
While I was getting the band fitted the salesman let me look at a Seamaster. I really don't think I'd ever seen a watch so beautiful in all my life. I have to say that there weren't a lot of luxuries in my upbringing and a watch of that caliber was really something to see. Things really didn't work out such that I'd ever get a chance to own one of those old Seamasters, but I still have a yearning for an Omega. I was at Jared's the other day and I do believe that a Speedy Pro is next in line as far as a watch goes. The salesman really made it tempting offering some $600 off the $4050 sticker price. It'll have to wait a little while longer, but I can still feel how good it felt on my wrist and in case no one's noticed, I'm partial to chronographs.
