After a ponderously slow decision, I finally traded my TT Datejust on this simple SS Sub Date. I have an old Sub Date (1680) and really wanted something different like the Sea-Dweller or the GMT master II but just couldn't make the jump out of indecisiveness. Let's face it, all these watches are great.

Every store I went to had all the watches I was interested in but the sub date. But today I went in to my AD and there was a new Z series Sub Date that had been ordered up for someone who backed out for some reason.

And it was just plain singin' in the case so I had to get it before someone else heard its siren song. Geez, buying a new Rolex is very exciting.

Thanks all. It is nice to have a place to share something as fun as this. My Datejust was a watch I've had for 8 years and always thought was a very elegant watch. It was a little tough to turn loose of it, but I just didn't think about it in the end. After all, the excitement of getting a brand new watch with all the trappings is pretty darned exciting to me.

More difficult than letting the DJ go was trying to figure out what watch to get. With the SD owners on here and all the incredible pics, I really felt my next watch was going to be an SD. The only drawback came from the sizing on my wrist. The watch just moved around a bit much. I still want one, tho.

Congrats! The SUB looks great! At some point or another, i'm sure you will miss your DJ - I really like the white dial with Romans. But....change is good sometimes and in this case, your change defninitely appears good!

I gravitate to sport watches.

The majority of my watch collection is sports-related.

You won't miss the TT DJ.

Move on, but, add to the collection.
Increase the quantity.
I find it "fun."
I seem to trade or swap only when I have doubles.
