Datejust Turn-o-graph 116264 confusion
Hey everyone I am about to obtain a Turn-o-graph, super jubilee bracelet, with an F serial which indicates the production date to early 2004. Regarding the Datejust model(s) in general, it's my understanding (and confusion) the Rolex rehault etching was introduced around 2007 with the super jubilee band around 2006.
So if the Turn-o-graph was produced in 2004, how come it has both the etching and super jubilee? Does this mean these may have been added indicating it isn't the original? I'm a bit confused or I could be misinformed? |

You can't apply the serial number charts to Turn-O-Graphs because they don't sell - the charts only really work for popular steel sports models, anything else, there is a big element of doubt. What it suggests is that your case was stamped at some point between 2004 and 2005, and it could easily have sat in storage for a long period until it was needed. I'm not entirely sure when the TOG was first launched, I think it must have been either 2004 or 2005, and I think it launched with both the engraved rehaut and SuperJubilee

The Serial letter (case stamp) gives you a general idea of when the case was produced, not when the watch was completed or sold. As Chris said, on models that are slow-sellers, it is a very inaccurate way to determine the true age of the watch.

I just wish that the rest of the members on TRF would think the same as you. There is just to much enthuses put on these Internet dating code its just a rough indication when a case was stamped. Now the movement in the case especially with movements like the cal 3135.Now that could be weeks, months, or even a year plus old before its cased. And it was 2004 Serial F/D on some models the Rolex Rolex Rolex started on the Rehaut ring.

I have the exact watch your describing right down to the F serial. Mine has the engraving and the super jubilee as well. I wondered the same thing, but didn't sweat it because I new it was all original. I love my TOG. Its a great addition to my 16610. The amount of knowledge on this site is wonderful. I'm sure you will enjoy that watch. It wears surprisingly big and is very comfy. Enjoy

I also have the same D series TOG w/S-Jubilee & rehaut. Bought from a very trusted AD. It's the best Rolex I've ever had. 6 months old and I *still* find myself admiring it. Best, Mark
