hi guys, need some professional advice on this one. As some of you may know, I am looking to add a time piece to my collection. In the Rolex forum, I was asking around about YM, GMT2C, or SD. So i started thinking, why not look at a panerai, since i have 2 Rolex already. I really love the 88 and 104... but was looking online the last week. Noticed that there are some Pam 24 series A to be had around the same price range. I actually like the Sub look, what does the experts think? Any advices or cautions?? Would these become more collectible one day? Thanks in advance!

I love the strong patina these models get on the plots. Good luck in your search/acquisition.

The A series also has the polished bezel. New newer models are matte. I "think" it will hold its value well and possible increase. These aren't investments. Don't expect it to go up and just be happy that it should at least hold.

Good choice too IMHO, but take your time and look around. There are MANY to choose from and hunting is half the fun!

Thanks guys... i totally agree with you Mik, this is def not investment vehicles.... i would be happy that the value holds. To me that would be a solid point of buying, especially when it comes time to flip. Any other experts have any caution or warning for m?

Just noticed that PAM24 are made of titanium? is that the whole case or just the bezel? is that the reason why these Pam 24 A are not as expensive?

24 are SS
25 are Ti

Mik... thanks for the correction... still trying to get a hang of the model numbers and style. Are there any advantages to the titanium model other then the weight?

24's are nice, but I prefer the 243. I like the '50 brushed case.

Some people like the color more of Ti.

Seriously, how long have you been looking at Panerai's? Take some time and look around man! There are sooooooo many beauties out there.

Additionally, the 25 has the Hobnail dial and the 24 has a plain dial.

Mik, I have been looking for about a week or so... was looking at 88, 312 and 104 about 3 months ago... I agree... these are all very nice watches... but as I looked these watches more closely, I know I definitely want an auto, date features... GMT feature was a must for me before since i travel alot... but i dont think its a MUST have at this point. I love the way 104 and 312 looks, but i have 3 friends with these watches, so i want to be a little different... so i started looking at 24. I think its very masculine and different! Thanks for your input.... i know these newbie questions could be a bit annoying... so i truly appreciate all of your inputs~

Not annoying. Just making sure you look around. I have seen several people just run out and buy a PAM only to find there is one they didn't know existed and they want more 2 days later. It can be overwhelming with all the choices, but that is the fun if you ask me.

Mik, totally agree, i definitely wont just run out and buy a PAM... I appreciate your advice, this is one of the reason I love this forum. All the knowledge and expert advice, keeps the newbies from making dumb mistakes. I know I will certainly benefit from all the inputs so far.
On the same topic of PAM 24, can some expert tell me why the used value on these are not that high? I see most around 6k. While any other PAM A would command 9K+ I assume its due to less deriability, but was wondering if there other hidden reasons that i should be aware. Thanks.

Peter2704, that is a nice shot... Loveit... Subs are growing on me for sure... So solid and masculine...with vintage flare.
