There is not a big demand for the smaller Oyster Perpetual Date models.. even in gold...

This one has had the lugs over-polished and you can see that the ends almost come to points, so it really couldn't handle another refinish....... therefore, the case is on it's last legs, even if the rest of it is running flawlessly..

From the dial and hands, I would say mid-60's, late 70's... possibly came with an oyster bracelet which would be very costly to replace... more than the watch is worth... but it may have come on leather.. The clasp (if original) is worth almost what the watch is..

The leather is OK for this piece..

I would say 900 bucks......... but only if you really wanted this piece..

Thank you

It's a 1973 model. How to tell if the clasp is original?

It should be hallmarked on the back... I believe that the gold Rolex buckles are solid/hallmarked and not plated as most of the replicas are..

There may be a buckle expert on TRF though...
