Old Omega - Anyone know about this one?

I have an old Omega that was prolly made in 1968-1969.
It was a gift I got back then but don't know anything about it - was hoping someone here might.

Want to know if a $250 repair is worthwhile when balanced on its current value?

Here's what I do know:
Automatic movement
Acrylic crystal

$250 is probably what the watch would go for, but if it has sentimental value then it's definitely worth fixing up.

It looks like a 17 jewel automatic cal 560 - it would be good to see the movement and case back. Could also be a cal 563.

Dial looks good, crystal needs repolishing or replacing and a new crown would add extra water resistance. As a member of a series of the most famnous autos Omega ever made, I think its certainly worth 200 to repair.

If you have it regularly serviced (around five years) it will outlive you :)

I'd pay $250 for that watch, if it was working, so as far as I'm concerned, if you already have the watch, it'd be worth that much just to have it to wear.

I'd love to have an Omega from that era.

That's a nice watch. I'd get it cleaned and serviced. I'm not sure about the bracelet. If it's not original, I'd ditch it and put a black or chocolate strap on it. It would make a nice dress watch.

Thanks guys - I will go ahead and have it serviced then. The bracelet is the original adjustable white gold filled one with the Omega symbol embossed on it.

Nice. In that case I'd have it removed and dipped in an ultra sonic cleaner.

i have a '66 Seamaster that is similar:

Just got the watch back and yes, it looks much like your '66 model. The watchmaker said its an 863 movement - he could not find an Omega NOS acrylic crystal so just polished the original one.

I'm turning my attention to a replacement band but can't find an Omega 18mm linked one reasonably priced. Found many replica's in SS on eBay - but the lugs on this watch are very thin so can't tell if they would be a problem. Here's a pic of what I mean. Thoughts on a replacement band?
