Hello from Hong Kong
Hello,
I just picked up my first Rolex on Sunday (GMT 2) and am loving wearing it. Looking forward to reading the forum and meeting people who enjoy talking about watches. Cheers, |

Here is a pic.
A quick question though, the link next to clasp seems not to move as freely as the others. Its just a bit tight, still moves if i want it to, but requires more effort. Is this normal for this link to be tight? My AD removed 2 links from the 6 o'clock side so now the non-removable link is next to the clasp on this side and thats teh one thats tight. It also squeaks a tiny bit randomly, is there lubrication on the pins? Let me know what you think. Thank you, |

Thanks for the warm welcome.
Here is a pic. Also i just noticed today one of the links seems tighter than the rest. Its the one on the 6 o'clock side next to the clasp. Is this normal, or does this just need to be worked in a bit. Im pretty close to the AD i got it, but rather not have to make a trip back. Let me know what you think. Cheers, |

Welcome and nice watch!
I read a thread a while ago that explains the tight / squeaky links. Apparently this is normal and will go away. It's a nice sign of a new Rolex! once its had a few watches it will probably loosen off a bit. Enjoy!

Dustin, welcome to the forum ! I don't think anything should squeak on new watch , It
also appears that you're wearing the bracelet a little tight , does your hand turn black after an hour or so ? Go back to the dealer and don't leave until YOU are happy ,wear it in good health. Time for an Old Guy's Tale of H.K. in the olden days.... When I was 18 , in 1960 , I was on a ship which docked in H.K. You could buy a new genuine Rolex for £15-16 in them good old days. The cook bought one and I liked it , when I found the price I realised that I would have to spend 2 weeks wages to buy one...No Way ! I thought he was Nuts ! I'm not laughing now ! |

Welcome to TRF Dustin.....!
It's most likely that you have an overtightened screw or possibly some excess locktite sticking to the link. Nothing major and an easy fix at your local AD! Congratulations and enjoy the boards, Rob.

Thanks for the tips, my dealer sorted it today, he said he removed and cleaned the pin. Its still a bit tight but much better. I also had them move one link to the other side to make it even. They had originally taken 2 off the same side.
Its nice having an excuse to go back to Rolex at IFC mall, great selection and really helpful staff. Cheers, |

Welcome Dustin
I wouldn't worry about the link at all, I've had the same problem and you will not even notice it when wearing the watch. The gaps between the links can be tight (which is better than loose) and you just need to give it some time. Your watch looks excellent
