It has a more complex bracelet (Glidelock clasp), and has a more robust caseback to help it cope with high pressure underwater. The movement in the GMT IIc would arguably be better, at least in my opinion. There isn't much in it, though, I think the Sub retails for £70 more than the GMT IIC, so it's swings and roundabouts really

By v sub do you mean the all green LV?
If so, it is more expensive because the dial is made of gold.

If we're talking about pre-owned watches, then the Sub will be more expensive as it's only been available since September, the GMT has been available to the market since 2007. The Sub is still experiencing its initial demand spike, and that will take some time to calm down. Remember also that there have been V serial watches from as early as late 2008, another example of why the serial number system is a very poor way to date a watch's manufacture

I have owned both and can say (with confidence) that the price difference is most likely attributable to the fact that the Sub C is just soooo darn awesome!!!

Historically, The Sub has always sold for more than the GMT.. This only changed recently when the GMT went ceramic first, but with the ceramic Sub now on par again, it has moved back into where it has always been in the line-up..
Prices are generally going to be based on supply/demand. The Sub is more popular, it can command a higher price.....

Sorry, should have phrased it as being more expensive due to the addition of gold...

Reminds me of a Blackadder sketch...
