Ultrasonic Cleaner

Hello Folks,

After months around here, One thing I have learned is that the daily build-up of dirt and grime causes the bracelet to stretch over a period of time. Does anyone use an ultrasonic cleaner for the bracelets occasionally\monthly? If so, do you use water, make your on solution, or purchase a solution?

Thanks

I use one and they work wonders on a bracelet. I use concentrated ultrasonic solution but you can use dish washer liquid. You will be amazed at how much dirt comes out from what looks to be a clean bracelet. I figure once a year or there abouts. Don't put your watch in an ultrasonic.

Stretch is not an issue with solid bracelets like your sub c has. Just wash it now and then with gentle dish soap and a toothbrush, and rinse it in the shower with you a bit more frequently and it will be fine. Ultrasonics are fine now and then for bracelet only, but if you use an ultrasonic too often you will actually cause the links to rub together and cause more wear.
Remember you have a VERY tough watch, don't worry about it too much.

As long as you remove the case back first, you should be fine, but not the watch.

Just dip the bracelet in. It'll be fine. A ton of ADs clean the watch by putting the whole watch in...

L&R ultrasonic solution and rinse for watches - only after I've disassembled the bracelet.

Can anyone suggest a decent ultrasonic cleaner, and I have noticed that some are heated, does that make a difference.

How many AD's are there to a ton?

If the seals are in poor condition then the cleaning solution will enter the watch whether it is in an ultrasonic cleaner or not so that doesn't sound like a good idea for a watchmaker.

Well in over thirty years of Rolex wearing and useing and abusing mostly as just tool watches.Myself have never found the need for ultrasonic cleaners just plain old soap and water. And all my bracelets are fine some 20 plus years old,now stainless steel does not stretch its the pins with friction of grit dirt etc that elongate the pin holes. And as today most Rolex watches get a very very very pampered life just plain old soap and water as Rolex themselves recommend should be fine for most Rolex wearers today.

You mean that we should throw the whole watch into the ultrasonic cleaner? is that what you mean? I don't mind that, just go ahead.

The Rolex Certified guy who serviced my 16660 did a complete tear-down and ultrasonically cleaned it. It was part of his standard procedure.

I bought an ultrasonic cleaner to clean my wife's jewelry and thought "how cool, I can use it to clean my Rolex bracelets". Trust me, the novelty wears off after a few times. Just wearing your Rolex in the shower once in a while is all you need. it's a Rolex after all!

Some AD's (not Paul's) will put the complete watch in the cleaner before a service so it's clean when they pull it apart.
Then the clean all the parst again before they put it together.

But never put in a complete watch in the cleaner if you just will clean it.

I can not agree with the shower statement.

Here is how it looks when I clean my beater, I can tell you a regular shower isn't enough.
