Rolex Crown Stem Quality

I have a couple of Subs but have really not handled much less owned very many other quality watches/brands. So here is my question. One of the things I like about my subs is that when the crown is unscrewed and wound the stem feels very strong, robust, rigid, solid and all those good things. Other lesser brands when the crown is unscrewed and twisted there is a flimsly feel as if one could easily break the crown off the stem. Anomino most recently comes to mind, the watches are nice but to me the crown felt like it was attached to a toothpick. I often find myself looking at APs, JLCs, IWC and some other brands online and know the quality of these watches is high but wonder how it feels to wind them up especially compared to rolex. Any thougths, are these other brands comparable as to feel?

a thick, rigid and heavy feeling of the crown is a distinct attribute of the Rolex divers.
A measure by which I judge all other watches and Rolex does it really well. No matter
what the watch is, if the crown is not rigid and does not offer resistance, then the
watch feels weak and it ain't for me.

Well said. I feel the same way. You said it in few words but said it accurately. What about all these other quality brands JLC, AP etc...

My Sub crown is by far the best. Feels solid - built like a tank. None of my other watches (including Rolexes) feel anywhere near as robust. I have an IWC Ingenieur and the crown drives me crazy, especially when trying to screw it down. It always feels like I'm about to cross-thread it.

My PAM292 is smooth and delightful to wind (manual wind). Feels like I'm winding an old Pocket Watch, which essentially it is. Nothing beats a Sub in my opinion.

I guess I haven't paid that much attention to the stem on my other brands. I have a Panerai, IWC, 2 JLCs, and a Omega. Overall they all feel like well built quality watches even though Rolexs are built to take a bigger beating. I'll have to pay more attention to the stem the next time I guess.
