Panerai Comfort?

Been on the verge of buying the 112 because I just love the simplicity and historic look of this watch. I tried it on at a local AD and the OEM leather strap was not comfortable at all. If I move forward with buying the watch, I plan to wear it mainly with some sort of vintage looking brown strap, a brown croc strap, and the rubber strap.

A couple of quick questions for you guys ...

I am accustomed to the comfort of the Rolex Submariner ... are the Panerai Base models comfortable on OEM croc straps? How about the rubber strap?

Thanks, I appreciate it.

I think majority of us came from a bracelet. The strap fit will take a while to get used to but its all a matter of getting "your" fit with the straps (after they break in a bit).

Depending on your wrist and preference, the OEM Crocs (and any aftermarket for that matter) may fit funny. It will take a bit of trial and error to find your fit. But in general, PAMs are comfortable.

I have only heard good things about the OEM rubber.

Enjoy and welcome to the "dark" side.

The Luminor case is far more comfortable than the 1950's on my wrist. I don't have an OEM leather but the OEM gator takes a while before it becomes comfortable

Give a few strap makers a try and you'll find one that works..

Well,...for me it seems most aftermarket straps are kinda thick. The best leather strap I've found is the Panerai MX. Bit longer, thinner, big logo buckle, it's the ideal leather strap for me.

I have one for each Pam I have. Stupid expensive, but it hits the spot for me.

For a diver Ted Su all the way.

I felt the OEM croc strap and rubber strap are both very comfortable.

the straps you mention are very comfy I have found,it does take a day or two for the strap to really settle in.

I have a Pam000, all I have currently is the OEM leather and rubber it came with. I have a Croc and a second OEM on order. But so far I find the leather one that comes wioth it to be very comfortable, no issues whatsoever.

I found the OEM PAM strap to be uncomfortable.

I only wear mine exclusively on thick aftermarket straps :-)

honestly nothing beats an oyster bracelet.

but if you really like panerai youre willing to forgo some of that comfort.

you can get a very very soft ammo strap.

the oem calf strap is pretty thin and comfortable already. you have to mold the strap to your wrist shape.

generally thick straps make it real hard to get a tight fit. it's more comfortable than wearing a seadweller.

44mm Luminors (non 1950) is alot more comfy on the wrist, however 47mm 1950 (pam 127 & 217) is even more comfortable. They sort of like wrap around your wrist real well..
