What to do - Thinking about a PAM
I am thinking about picking up a PAM. Which one would you go with, a 111, 112 or 113? I like the white dial but the black seems more classic. Thoughts?

As a new convert, I can say that you won't regret it....go for it!
Between the three you mentioned, I'd go 111, because I like to see something moving on the dial....the 113 is really nice, but, with a white dial Explorer II, I didn't give it much thought. I seriously considered the 111, as I wanted a Luminor and not a 1950 case, but ended up going with a 164 for the brushed case + polished bezel, painted dial, date and quick change strap system. Plus, as a bonus, I prefer the 164's dark brown croc to the 111's tan. I'm also happy having a solid back.... |

Another great reason to try a 112 or 000 first is that you will be able to get a feel for the brand with the lowest possible initial investment. All the straps that you collect for the Base models will then fit all the other Luminor cases if you decide to upgrade down the road. You can't go wrong with any of those choices. Good luck in your decision and keep us posted on your progress. ![]()

^totally agree with ya! Initially I wanted the 112 but my search is on for a 111.
But now the simplness of the 112 is a great look too. I might switch my mind again! Both are classic pieces. You can't go wrong. Good luck! |

What's your budget and wrist size?
Without know more, consider the versitile 210 or 183. Here is my 210 (i changed the hands to gold which you could do relatively cheaply if you like, I have a pic with the OEM black hands too). ![]() ![]() ![]() With my older style painted 111. ![]()

if you are used to having a continous running second hand, then i would stick to a PAM has one. just a little easier for the transition.
44mm luminor vs 1950 (312 and such) case wears differently for different people. for me, luminor works much better. 111 is an obvious choice cause its very "panerai": sandwich dial, hand wind movement, 44mm luminor case if you want something more unquie, i would go with 113 with the white dial. the inhouse movement are nice, but (IMO) they are not proven over a long period of time (yet), MSRP are a bit more expensive, and you would want to have PSC service it (more expensive service) for me, i am a fan of the 44mm luminor case and i own a 111. it seems to work for me |

Have you tried any of them yet? Do you prefer the painted or sandwich dial? Maybe a good idea to check out Radiomir cased Panerai too ![]() |

Cant go wrong with the 111, one of my personal favorites. 112 is also nice but I prefer the sub seconds. Good luck!

I like the pam 113 because of the white clean dial and the fact that it goes with a dark or light strap. The case back is open to view the decorated mov't. The unitas mech mov't is very accurate and free of problems. One issue would be that the lume is not as bright as the 111. Go to an ad and try them on. See which one sings to ya!!

Personally out of the 3 I would choose the 112. But then again I choose the 000 for myself.

I have pretty small wrists - 6 3/4" or so. A 40mm fits fine, but I want to move up where there's more choices. The 44mm Luminor is about 53mm lug-to-lug and seems a little long on me. (Maybe it's not and I'm just not used to it.) The 45mm Radiomir isn't as long and doesn't seem to wear any bigger than the Luminor. Anyone have any tips? thanks, Jim |

it's not just diameter, but shape of wrist that counts. i'm about the same size wrist as you, and the top of my wrist is flat. the 1950 case sat awkwardly on my wrist, but the luminor case is great. i was nervous about the size at first, but, after a short amount of time, i've gotten completely used to it and like it. good luck. ![]() |

Thanks everybody. I tried one on last night and thankfully found a pre-loved piece last night as well. I should be receiving a nice 111 tomorrow in the morning!

I prefer the 111 of the three mentioned. I agree with come commenter - on whether or not the seconds hands is important to you or not. For me, when I first got my 000, I had regrets and missed the seconds hand immensely. Can honestly say now, it doesn't bother me at all. I have a Pam 000 - which you can also consider as a very good choice IMHO.

I tend to do things that way. Looking forward to it. Had my co-worker bring in his 112 today so I could wear it around the office and get used to the weight. I will post pics tomorrow! Thanks for all the help everybody!
