Interesting. Does this mean that Watches of Switzerland have "lost" their Rolex boutique status?

looks like i'll have to book a hotel for the night next time i get down to London, far too much to cram in in such a small period of time for an out-of-towner

Very cool. I've been to the one at South Coast PLaza in Costa Mesa, CA and it's amazing what they have in there. It was run in conjunction with DeBeers, which kind of threw me off because of the sign. Apparently this is the first boutique they have in the States but hopefully more are coming. These boutiques are definitely the place to go to try stuff on. I spent probably an hour and a half trying different models.
When you're ready to buy, steer clear though. Prices are full retail, obviously, and they even add the tax to the total so it makes it seem that you're getting some kind of a deal. I was looking at a TT Subc and my jaw literally dropped when I read the price tag at just over $14k. And there's not real discounting. Well, the sales manager offered 5% off if I was ready to pull the trigger that day and when I pressed him about further discounts if I paid with cash he flat out said 5% was the best he could do. (He then proceeded to tell me that I should never buy anything with cash and that, if I were to buy the watch, I should charge it to get airline miles. I figured this had something to do with my age (25) and him feeling the need to "lecture" me...which I'm used to whenever I buy something high-end) But I digress... Hopefully this will be open when I'm next in London...

Saw that advert in yesterday's Metro. I can't see why WOS would have lost thier boutique status though...
What do people think of Time2?? I've been to the Westfield branch when I was looking at an IWC Chronograph and the guy who served me was pretty informative. Talking of adverts etc... Did anyone see the 'Watch your Time' supplement in the Telegraph on 14th April? It was a 67 page magazine featuring all the latest high-end watches, including Rolex. |

I wouldn't shop there. Just book a cheap flight to the US and buy at Mappin's at Heathrow, or fly to New York, rent a car and buy tax free in Delaware.

Wonder if they'll stock up on vintage models?
