parachrome?

hi guys please dont laugh. im totally new to rolex so this might seem like a dum questions. but does the 116610 use the parachrome in its hairspring?

And like many things on the Internet a lot of miss-informatation yes the116610 does have the in-house Breguet type overcoil hairspring made from a material that Rolex call parachrom.But the older type of hairsrping was called Nivarox thats what the metal was called that it was made from. And it too was a Breguet overcoil type hairspring and very anti-magnetic as all modern hairsprings are.And it was used in all Oyster watches for the last 40 odd years.Now the other metal that they state in link Glucydur thats what the balance wheel is made from and not hairsprings, and most of the high end Swiss brands have used this non magnetic Glucydur metal for 30 plus years.

Thanks for posting, Padi. You just tweaked my WIS-brain to the nth degree with that info on Parachrom, Nivarox, and Glucydur. Now I know where J.K. Rowling came up with those names in "Harry Potter".

Some members of trf have reported that their parachrom watches have a higher consistency of time keeping compared to their older watches. Not sure if that is true or if It is just because the watches are newer in general. I certainly find mine is extremely consistent day to day-Almost NO variation.
