Melrose Jewelers
Hello all, can you tell me if this is a reputable site to buy from? Website claims to be America's largest reseller of rolex. I'd rather buy on this site, but nobody seems to have a two tone YM with blue face. Thanks

Have you tried sending a private message to one of the big sellers on TRF? Most of the time one of them can find you what you want.

Melrose makes their own claims....
They specialize in their own aftermarket modifications to authentic Rolex watches. You will seldom find an original and so I would think that the dials may also be aftermarket if you want something special.... Personally I wouldn't buy from them..

If you plan to by online ,look up one of the reputable sellers here. You will be plenty happy.
If by chance you live close to melrose and to pick it up from the store, skip it and go to Geary's of beverly hills that a ridiculous collection there. |

Frankenwatch indeed. As far as I know, every Rolex they sell is fitted with an aftermarket "italian" bracelet, aftermarket crystal, etc. As far as I can tell, only the case and movement are original Rolex.
Rolex won't service a watch with aftermarket parts and you will have a much harder time selling such a watch in the future. Better watches and deals right here on the forum |

I've emailed/PM'd several of the sellers here. Some have responded that they don't think they can locate one, waiting to hear back from others.
Sounds like I'll be passing on Melrose. Interesting that they chop up the watches yet claim every rolex leaves their store 'showroom quality'. Guess they're referring to their own showroom, as opposed to an actual dealer?! |

I researched Melrose on the web and found another thread from a few years ago discussing this topic. Looks like nothing has changed at Melrose.
That thread listed several other resellers that one poster said were honest. One of them was Cape Town Diamonds, and they have the watch I want. Anybody done business with them? |

I would avoid these guys, at all costs. I have not heard good things... Try a TRF seller, or another grey dealer like swissluxury.com

I've dealt with Capetown Diamond and they provided great service.

I would never buy from Melrose jeweler's. About 4 years ago I was looking on the website and sent an email asking how old most of their watches are. I ended up buying from a AD and literally 3 months after the email I received a call from Melrose finally answering my question that they are mostly from the 70's! talk about a slow response...
