How do you delete a post? I put up a pic in the gallery and want to delete it.

You've got 1 hour to edit a post or thread...
After that, you can't remove or delete post for the reason of keeping the forums integrity!

Not sure how removing a post would compromise the integrity of TRF. I see this has the pottential for repeat posts because the a TRF member who wishes to ammend their post can't so they repost the ammended version and viola there are now more than one post for the same topic

I agree, now that you have joined the forum let's change all the rules so they fit you better.

Appologies if my suggestion has offended anyone that wasn't the intent. I'm a member of other forums and bring experience of those forums to TRF. Until now TRF seemed an open friendly forum, I only made a sound suggestion to make TRF more user friendly and prevent unesesary clutter. MonBK I respect your many 1000's of posts and hope they haven't all been like this one, could you be more constructive and explain how removing a post can compromise TRF, many thanks.

Suggestions like this come up every now and then, usually by newbies who wants to "improve" the forum.

Sometimes a member becomes offended and attempts to remove all their posts or modify them to say something they didn't originally..

We have had to restrict such edits so the forum remains accurate from an archive perspective..

If you research a subject and half the posts are gone, there is no longer any structure (integrity) to the Forum Threads..

All true; however, point of order:

When people use photobucket or other photo hosting site, they can at any time edit their photos on THAT site thereby changing the images on THIS site. So there is still a lack of thread integrity possible; albeit, just visually with photos.

Most worrisome in the for sale section, where a photo of an advertised perfect watch could (after the sale) be replaced with a photo of the real scratched watch to demonstrate that the 'scratch was there, didn't you see it?'

I have no knowledge that this has ever happened; however, perhaps the 'img' function should be turned off for the sales section and only allow internally uploaded photos
