I've seen The Hangover 2 recently, a bit predictable, but funny all the same! Also seen Attack the Block (aliens versus East London "gangstas") which was a bit hit and miss, and I'm off to see X-Men this afternoon

Tried to read the book...drivel! I've heard the movie is pretty good though, so I'll give it a go.

Unknown - quality
The Ward - don't bother
Kill the Irishman - pretty good for a low budget affair
Eyes Wide Shut - such a great film i had to watch it again (ok, and for Nicole Kidman)

Most recent one that impressed me tremendously: The Hurt Locker

Older "classics" for me that I consider required viewing:

Most of John Ford, esp. The Searchers
Godfather I and II
Goodfellas

And I could go on but will leave it there.

A few good ones that are playing on cable channels now are:
  • The Proposal (Sandra Bullock, Ryan Reynolds, Betty White)
  • A Perfect Getaway (Timothy Olyphant)
  • The Blind Side (Sandra Bullock)
  • She's Out of My League

Is that the one about the trouble-making family in the hills?

If so, that was a really interesting film.

Saw Before the Devil Knows you're Dead. Sidney Lumet's last film and one of his best. A family crime movie with Philip Seymore Hoffman, I can highly recommend it. Tonights movie will be The American by music video director Anton Corbijn, not too high hopes for that one though.
