SeaDweller or Deepsea? - Part II the choice is made!...

Friends!

thank you again for all your inputs to the previous thread, which really helped alot and finally I made the choice, given there was the sudden announcement of price increase here in Hong Kong, I had to jump on it before the price went up!

DEEP SEA it is!

I was very excited and wearing the watch right now, looking at it every 10 mins!!!

I would like to also take up abit of space here to share some of my own considerations during the journey in making this very very very tough choice between 2 spectacular watches:

I finally chose the DEEP SEA becoz:

1) I was out to purchase a deep dive watch, and I am very impressed with the super engineering behind DEEPSEA, and the feeling of that the concept, research, technology and touch on my wrist is stronger than the SD.

2) I have a Sub-date in my collection which already represents the Rolex history for subs and SDs for me. So DEEPSEA thus will still epresent the SD line for me in my collection

3) The price I was offered was quite unbeatable, given the price increase.

4) It just looks good on my wrist!! (yes, no modesty here!)

I have also found a few details which made my attracted to the DS more as I wear it now:

- the domed crystal is an absolute beauty! that Subtlety and Shape, shouting Sexy!
- glad to have the bracelet links all brushed hairline finished, unlike the daytona or GMTiiC with a mirrored center link, which retains this DEEPSEA much more tough and tool watch look.
- the Titanium backcover gives a warm touch to the wrist, very neat detail, not to mention its practical purpose as to allow the watchcase to get tighter as the pressure builds, making it more indestructible the deeper it goes!
- carrying this piece of art and science work on my wrist is certainly comforting, knowing it is for sure of the top 3 deep dive watch in the world!

Thank you all again! have to look at the time again now!! ; )
hope you like the pictures!

Eddie

Congradulation. I'm tempted to trade my two tone sub for the SD. I can only keep one though. Tough decesion for me.

Heck of a watch my friend.... congrats!

Can you take a pic of the DSSD on your wrist from the helium valve perspective? I want to see how it sits on your wrist. The reason being is that from the top, our wrists look about the same with the DSSD on, but I want to see how it sits because iIve seen how it sat on mine.

Deep sea sea dweller

Congrats on your choice. Looks great on the wrist. I've had one since 2009 and wear it 75% of the time. It keeps "drop dead on time" and has only been reset a few times since new. Yes it does go in the water without a problem. Use it in good health.

Here you go- note that there's a plastic cap over the bezel and my wrist is a little under 8" so I think the space between the band and my wrist on the right hand side is because I wasn't worrying about the fit at that moment.

Interesting to me when I tried it on- the watch FACE almost seems small compared to some of the watches I'm used to, however, the case+lugs hang out farther than the proportions I would have used (if they'd asked me...).

Also- the case-back is surprisingly (to me) tall.
