New panerai
I got a new panerai pam048. I went from pam104 to pam111 and thought that 44mm was to big because I have small 6.5in wrist. But after getting the 40mm, its too small after going from 44mm, though the 40mm does look more proportional on my wrist, I dont like the watch. In all I think 44mm panerais look better. So I sold it already but here are some pics of the watch. I also got the aftermarket SS bracelet which is a nice touch.

I know what you mean. My wife has a 40mm.
Most of mine are 44 & up. These do feel "small" after wearing the larger one, even though they are still larger than the 40mm Rolex'. ( thicker cases) The photo's look great.

Congrats. I started with the 48, went through some 44mms, went back to the 48 and now back to 44mm with a 104. What a ride!!! I have about a 6 3/4" wrist. 44mm is probably pushing it. To be honest with you, I don't have a preference.

I've had issues with 44mm as well... due to an old injury I just couldnt wear the watch for any length of time. I recently traded my 005 in on a 48 and am totally stoked that I did this. Was a hard decision at the time. But a week on, I can wear the 48 for 14hrs straight with no issues at all. Still early days tho, so far so good.
My problem was positioning on the wrist... the 44mm needed to sit up behind my wrist bone (any lower it dug into my hand and hurt my wrist bone) to keep it there I had to have it sooo tight or the watch would slide down. The 48 sits perfectly between the wrist bone and my hand... causes no issues at all. I'd say next time... I'll try a Radiomir. Do you still have that bracelet? Did it just fit straight onto the 48 or require a adapter? I'm thinking of getting one. |

A wristshot would be nice!
![]() I really like Panerai but I'm worried it will look huge on my puny wrists. The Sub is about what my wrist can handle... |

Really, you'd have to try and find one to try out to really know what its like. I had the 44mm but alas I couldnt wear it for comfort issues etc but the 48 I'm having no issues with at all. I want to pick up a Submariner as well... so when I do, I'll post pics of both side by side for comparisons. Last edited by amanda; 20 June 2007 at 10:34 PM.. |

hahah thanks guys! darn..I didnt take a wrist shot of the watch before I sold it. I only owned this one for a week. I just purchased a pam111G so now Im back to a 44mm's
once you get used to the 44mm, its nicer. Its funny because with the 40mm on my small wrist, looks like a 44mm to some of you guys with bigger wrist. walds11 I wish my wrist were atleast 6.75in like yours then it wouldnt be that bad. |

And for my wrist I deffinately like the 40mm on bracelet than the 44mm for me. The 40mm with this OEM style bracelet is really nice and snug, a perfect fit. But leather straps the 44mms look better than the 40's.

You mentioned an aftermarket ss bracelet for you panerai. Can you tell me more? I would certainly like to buy one since my 44mm PAM61 is making my wrist sweat and I don't like my leather straps smelling funky about a couple of months. Does your afternarket SS bracelet fit a strapped Panerai?
Thanks. Dan |

Hey!! I sold the pam G awhile back. Then bought a pam111H with the sandwich dial. I didn't really like the Sandwich dial so I sold that, which I really really really regret now. So I went through 3 111's, a 104, and 48. I currently want a pam50 and a pam 88 or 90. The 50 is perfect on the bracelet. And the 88/90 would be on rubber straps.
damn I miss panerais The bracelet is bad ass. The 90 is awesome too |
