Montblanc Generation pen

hi,

does anyone have any experience with the Montblanc Generation pens? I don't see them on the official Montblanc website, but Costco sells them for a good price, normal Montblancs in Canada starts $400, Costco has them for $200.00

http://www.costco.ca/Browse/Product....atchallpartial

cheers,

They are nice pens so if you want one I'd jump on it before they run out!!!

Are these only online purchase? Or, can you buy in store? Has anyone had any experience with this particular pen?

The Generation line is a "secondary" series of pens from Montblanc. They are usually ordered by corporates as gift pens. That's why they don't feature in Montblanc's website.

i end up buying it at my local Costco, so far so good, the rollerbal is really smooth, so for the price it was worth it, considering the regular price starts at $400 in Canada like i previously mentioned

I have 2 MB Generation rollerball pens. They are great pens. I have one in Canary yellow and one in neon orange. They made these in the 90s and can be difficult to find now. As for costco, they have them at my local store for 190 plus tax.

I have a Montblanc Meisterstuck Classique that I received when I graduated from college. I got the rollerball version, and I love the way it writes and looks. The only complaint I have is that with a nice pen, I didn't want to "wear out" the friction that holds the cap on.

Further, I was always fussing with the cap, as I write and sign a lot for my job (attorney, I love clickers for my cheapo pens). That said, when Costco started carrying the "Generations" line, I picked up a ball point version (only one they sold), with the "twist" mechanism to expose the tip.

I hate ball points and love rollerballs, so I then replaced the ball point cartridge with a...hold on, opening pen now...MonteVerde Capless Gel - M43BB refill. Best of both worlds now. MB rollerball pen, but with a twist, not cap, construction.

My preference is to find the Generations ball point, and do the cartridge swap. The Generations rollerball has the same cap construction as the Meisterstuck.

As for the review on Costco's site, does it feel cheaper than other MB pens? Yes, that's likely because it is cheaper than other MB pens. But it's a good "beater" MB, writes great with a good refill, and you won't throw yourself off a bridge if you lose it.

Hope this helps anyone considering it!
