Vintage GMT-Master band question

I'm new to this forum so please forgive me if I sound like an idiot. I recently discovered that an old rolex I have had for some time is actually a vintage GMT-Master "pepsi" ref#1675.
My question is this- Of the original bracelets that I have seen for this watch it appears that this one is the Oyster ( folded link ) bracelet but there is a tiny riveted plate covering where the fold would appear. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks!

It depends on what year the watch is. How about some pics and details...
