New posters describing sought-after watches etc.

As those of you who lurk here often know, there've been quite a number of posts (mostly by new posters) lately describing a watch (often a sought-after one) or other item and asking some question about it, such as estimated value etc, without posting any pictures. What's common to these posts is that it's evident right away or after awhile that there's something funny about them.

Any ideas what it's all about? Just attempted scams? Or something more sophisticated? Sometimes I suppose the posters try to get offers for watches they own without having the required number of posts for posting in the For sale section. But is there more to it?

I think that's it. Quite annoying actually.

There are two things going on that I see a lot.

The first is I have a watch how much is it worth...this is an attempt to get offers through PM circumventing the For Sale Section.

The second is, is my watch real, AKA I know it's fake but tell me exactly how obvious of a fake it is because I want to list it on Ebay as a real Rolex and rip someone off.
