DSLR's acting up in Florida?

I was on vacation in Orlando this past week and I decided to bring my D90 with me so I can do some shooting. The first day I got down there I kept getting an "ERR" and "CHA" code on my display. The only way it would turn off was if I pulled the battery out. The other weird thing was my aperature would get stuck in ridiculous ranges, most of the time if would go to F90 and the lowest I could bring it down was to F35. Of course the last day of my trip was the only day it didn't act up and it seems to working fine now. I was just wondering if any other users have had issues like this? I wasn't sure if it was just acting up due to the humidity/temperature. For reference, I was using a Nikon D90 w/ a Nikkor 18-200mm VRII. The only thing I did before my trip was copy everything of my SD card on to my computer and reformatted the card so I would have a fresh card for the trip. Any input you guys have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry to hear of the issue. Humidity could be an issue.

I have 2 D90s and both have served me well.

Hope it gets resolved.

"CHA" usually indicates a Memory Card issue. If you reformatted your memory card in your computer, try reformatting it in your D90. "ERR" usually indicates a body to lens issues (dirty contacts, bad contact, shutter issue.....is a bit more varied as to what it means). Try reformatting your card in the D90, and perhaps try another lens, to see if the ERR is lens specific......ultimately, you may need to have it looked at, should the ERR message not stop. Hopefully the CHA will not happen any further once you only reformat your cards in the D90.

Good luck.......
