My watch stopped running...

I realize that my watch needs servicing and I will do that, however I'd like to explain why.

Recently my Thunderbird started to lose steam... To the point where I would wind it in the morning and by evening after wearing, the watch stopped. I wound it again and it didn't start running. I gently waved the watch to see if the automatic would kick in at all. Nothing. Then I noticed a rattle inside the watch, not from the bracelet. The date is stuck, I didn't force it. Wondering if the sound is teeth from a gear?

Wondering if any have had similar symptoms and what the fix for you was.

Are you currently located in Seminole, FL? If so, my parents live in Sarasota & my father owns an 18k Presidential that could use a checkup (no problems just a service). Since I am new to these forums, what is your background/credentials/etc?

Rikki serviced my 16570 and I was very pleased with both the watch post service and his professionalism. There are many on this forum that feel the same.
