Red gear inside the Rolex movement.
When I read a watch magazine, I find a red gear inside the Rolex movement. Can anybody kindly teach me what is the red gear made of ? What is the advantage of using such material ?

the red gear, is a teflon (like your fry pans) coated gear to reduce friction. it is used to tranfer the movement from the rotor to the mainspring.
