It soulds like you could easily take a 40 mm or larger watch. You might try and Omega Speedmaster, a Breitling, or a Sub or Yachtmaster. Or if you want something a bit larger, look at Panerei. Take a look at any of those to get an idea if that's the type and size watch that suits you.

With your dark skin, consider this: If you want some contrast and have the watch stand out, go with a white or silver dial. If you want to be a little more inconspicuous, go with the black dial.
Let us know how the hunt goes. Keep us posted.

Using the miracle of my imagination, coupled with your avator I would say the explorer II white dial or the new SS GMT would look pretty dangerous on you.
Here's a pic of the explorer II in case you've not seen it. Oddly enough the wearer of this watch is also a bit of a fashion icon.

Lots of watches could certainly work, and I definitely agree with a lighter colored dial. The Ex-II would look deadly, so would a TT Blue Sub or a Yammie. You could go with a Breitling Navitimer, as well. Just because a larger watch would work, doesn't mean you have to use one. If you're slim a ladies DJ on oyster or a Cartier would look very understated and elegant as well. Good luck!

Hi Ayisha,
If you can post some pix I would be happy to choose a Rolex to suit you.

I think bigger watches on women are attractive. I would look at a mid-sized Rolex or even on of the smaller men's models. Good luck.

Girl... you need a Panerai I reckon. A white dialed 44mm would be the bees knees for you... 114 or a 113 for sure... they have minimal glow in the dark bits (most high end watches'll glow in the dark too by the way) and you can get some really cool straps made out of all different types of leather... something for every occasion and with every strap change it's like owning a different watch!
With your height... a 44mm Panerai will suit you a to a T.. Good luck and be sure to let us know what you end up with....oh any Q on Panerai shoot me a PM and I'll help you out.... have fun looking! edit - here's some photos, none of them are mine... all borrowed from paneristi.com 113 on a vintage strap 113 on a blue croc of some sort 113 on stingray bracelet model |

Decisions, decisions..............
Hello and welcome to TRF.
Firstly, you or your friend need to decide on your price range. That will then determine whether you go for all steel, TT or solid gold. Second, do you want professional range (sports) Explorer, Sub, SD, GMT, Daytona etc. or classical dress watch DJ, DD. Then dial configaration as well as colour, as this may be limited depending on your watch choice. Don't just limit your choice to Rolex (now calm down guys), there are many nice high end brands out there. Also look at discussions page (non Rolex) in this forum for ideas. Here's a cool one for you Best to go to a good AD such as the Tourneaus, Wempe etc. where they carry a large selection of variants of Rolex as well as other brands. Happy hunting, keep us informed. John. |
