Still No Discounts on Subs From AD???

its been about 8 years since i shopped for a rolex.

at that time, you were lucky to get a 2.5-5% discount, if anything at all on a sub (date or no date).

have times changed? are subs (date and no dates) now being pretty commonly sold thru AD's with a discount? or is it just like the old days - rolex being fairly impervious to general economic conditions?

thanks!

ps - i am hoping it is permissinle to talk about pricing in this way, as we are not talking about any specific dealers

Call around and you will find a discount of 10% or more if you are lucky.

X2, I've been offered 10% off on a sub without even asking. You should be able to easily find a decent discount

I got a killer discount on my SUB-c recently.
Most likely because it was a TT ?

Doesn't matter cause its what I was looking for

Why would an AD offer a discount on a Subc?

It's all relative to the area and AD.

To sell the watch. I wasn't paying $8k. I had no previous relationship with the AD and walked out the door for less than $7k total. I didn't pay taxes. They are still making $$$. In my opinion its about turnover.

In South Florida I have never seen or heard of an AD discounting a SS Sub.

I just purchased my new sub from and AD at a 15% discount (off $8,000). Things are tough in Michigan.

I have NEVER had any issue getting a great discount on SS Rolex (Sub/GMT...). I just purchased another Sub C yesterday LN this time and got a great discount... Its all about the relationship you have with the AD and the amount of $$$ you spend in there on a regular basis IMO

Oh lord, another one!!?

Beauty you got there mate....

BACK to the subject of discount... I managed to get 20% of my Sub-c. Just like Adam said, the more ££££££££ you have spent with them, the more ££££ they should take off

not true I just bought my first rolex from a local AD and got a Sub c for 7350 not the best price out there, but I bought it from an AD within a half an hour of my house. At the end of the day it feels nice to have bought your watch from an AD, knowing you have someone to go if anything is wrong with the watch.

I live near an AD - no discount. It's the store policy.

They don't have to discount sports watches around here. They don't even need to discount TT sports watches.

I guess since property is so cheap there everyone can afford nice watches. I'm sure they don't have to discount here but I called about 5 AD's before I got a good discount. A lot of AD's won't discount anything but if you call around you will find a discount.

I think things are changing. I have a friend who used to be able to get subs here in FL for 15% off, granted he would buy let's say 2 at a time. But this same AD that was known for "playing ball" will NOT discount anymore. Is it threats from Rolex, is it limited supply, who knows, but I think discounts on SS sport models is going the way of the Dodo bird.

Indeed if you are lucky - Not rich...lol
Rolex Subs of any type ARE NOT DISCOUNTED (No need)
Now if you are a repeat customer for jewelry, gifts etc.
you might see a small discount but when adding the tax
then on the high side again.
Here at the forum a new Sub-C can be bought for $7.000 or less.
Coming Sept. '11.... prices might go higher again.

I paid full msrp on my subc from an AD but didn't pay tax, so it was more than 8% less than what it could have been. This was close to Thanksgiving in 2010, first ever purchase from this store.

I know there are lots of "fish stories" out there but I have never had an issue obtaining a discount on a SS sports model Rolex (Daytona excluded of course). Are you saying you do not think there are discounts available on the Sub C? Not trying to attack here just wondering your thoughts...

What I'm getting from this thread is, there are absolutely NO discounts to be found on Subs....until you find one.
