Surgery today..guess what I was dying to put on.

Hi fellow TRF members. Well, it is 4:53 a.m. DST ON the U.S. East coast.I had shoulder surgery today and the nerve blocker seems to have run out a little prematurely. Been very uncomfortable for the last two hours and relying on Aleve. Don't like the narcotics they prescribed.

Anyway, I was told not to wear any jewelry watches etc to surgery. So, told my wife when we get home, i need you to put my GMT on my wrist, that made me feel a little better. The recovery room male nurse was wearing a DateJust II with an ice blue dial but I don't think it had diamonds.

I'm guessing you felt better immediately after the application of Rolex to your wrist!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Howdy!

Had my shoulder surgery (labral tear, detached capsule, bicep tenodesis, some arthritis and a few other things) about 3 months ago. Very painful for the first couple of days indeed, but it gets better quickly. Used a "gunslinger" brace for about 6 weeks, and again very painful when they removed it because of the movement ... but it also gets better after a day or two. Now I got almost all my range back and it feels good ... there is always a little pain but never more than 2 or 3 (on a 1 to 10 and they tell me it is normal for the first few months) so I can't complain. Therapy works great (when the time comes) so don't despair and do exactly as the doctor / therapist tell you. Good luck!

Get well soon Bud.

Male nurse wearing a DJ II? Not sure that is gonna help the DJII's image.

(God I hope there are no males nurses on the forum)

Have you seen male nurses? Very often they're big burly guys, capable of lifting deadweight humans. Problem with that?

OP, best of luck and a speedy recovery.

It's only a bit of banter, meet the parents style.

No one seems to have a sense of humour anymore.

Since this is the Rolex Forum, instead of a "Speedy" recovery, I'll wish you a Rolex recovery. Feel better soon.

Thanks for all the good wishes and comments. they made me smile. It was a rough night after a rough day yesterday. Took the anesthesiologist 25 mins to find the spot for the nerve blocker yesterday before the surgery and although they had me high as a kite, I still felt it.

At 7 am, I called the surgical center about the empty nerve blocker and the told me to come in ASAP. So woke the wife and we headed out. Yes, the male nurse was there and had the DJII with ice blue dial with roman numerals, no diamonds. (no anesthesia today to cloud my memory). The watch had stunning wrist presence. We talked watches for a few minutes and he said he wears it 24/7. He wishes there was lume on it and is thinking of having the hands replaced. He admired my IIC.

Yes, he was a big tough looking guy and nice as can be. He obviously really enjoys helping people. So, fellow TRF members, I thank you again for your good wishes and guess I'll be spending lots of time hanging out here until the doc says I can go back to work.
