how much does dial change affect value of daytona

I found that my daytona had a dial change so my jeweller kindly gave me a refund. But i wasnt really sure how much it had affected the value of the watch. any views on this? Thanx

It wouldn't affect it at all. Certainly on UK guarantees, the dial colour isn't specified

If its the Zenith one you recently posted about Tritium to Luminover dial and if you had the papers from Rolex that the dial had been changed.Yes it would effect the price to a serious Rolex collector by how much well how long is a bit of string in the range of £300 -£500 or more.We are not talking about say a Red dial Sub or SD now a dial change on one of those would be a disaster. But many of the Red subs did have there dials changed at normal routine service by Rolex. But that was long before the Internet and now the high value of the Red and most vintage subs.

There isn't enough information to answer this question accurately as it pertains to your particular watch and both Padi and GMT are correct..

If it's a recent model and the dial was changed from white to black (or vice versa), or on a gold model it went from one dial to another, then there is no change in value.. or even if it was a service replacement done during service...

However, if it was a valuable watch that collectors covet, they consider anything less than original condition to devalue the piece (from a collector viewpoint). This does not mean that the watch was "actually" devalued, but only that a collector would not pay top-dollar. If it wasn't at top-dollar in the first place, the point is moot.. The Daytona is also a very popular piece so values stay pretty constant..
