Roger Federer US Open Daytona Ceramic

I saw this interview today. Is Roger wearing what it looks like? A Daytona Ceramic. It appears to have a black bezel, black dial, white subdials, and brushed center links. I've never seen this combination. In fact I don't believe it is available. It doesn't make sense that he would be wearing something not on the market. Regardless it looks great.

Gotta be. Thought Tiger at first but the subdials aren't arranged in the 9 o'clock.

Yeah, I saw a live interview with him just yesterday, and he was wearing the same watch except the dial looked blue with white sub dials. Does look like a 6263. I'd have to disagree that he'd be wearing something not available on the market a he is their most famous sports icons, and they do get personalized and custom things from sponsors.

I still think Nadal made out better as far as sponsors go

Agreed on the 6263....
The new ceramic Daytonas are only on leather straps!

I just don't agree on the vintage 6263. Given his status as a Rolex Ambassador it would appear he always wears current models, usually a new watch every major tournament. If I was paying him millions to represent my company he would wear a watch that you would see, want, and go buy. It would not be bright advertising to contractually permit him to wear watches that can't be purchased by the public.

Consider his racket manufacturer, Wilson. He doesn't use an old model racket because he likes it better. Wilson makes their new model to his specifications. Then every joe smo goes out and buys the new one.

Regarding mods. I don't see Rolex making special order pieces. Is it possible? Yes, however I still find it highly unlikely. Again, people will want to buy that watch because they saw him wearing it. If you can't go buy it Rolex misses out.

I find it weird. Being a vintage piece would be an easy explanation, but I just don't think it is.

I have sold a few to pro athletes - I think it is one my Heritage Daytonas.

You sure want it to be a new ceramic don't you? As far as his racket is concerned, it's made to his specs and custom for him as well. You can't just walk in to your local sports store and buy the same racket he uses: weight, size, strings, balance, and his RF logos are all custom to him by Wilson that they won't do for the average Joe. Same with his Nike shoes: you can buy the same model shoes, but his are custom with his logo, Swiss flag stamps and width of the shoe. Just as he specifically gets his own specs on his shoes, racket, and Mercedes-Benz, he can most likely specify that he'd like a certain watch made for him that no one else can have. He wears the rest of the common Rolex's we all see more than enough to sell the product.

I totally agree about the racket, shoes, and car. That is exactly what I previously said, however I have never heard of Rolex making special order watches. Have you?

Of course I want it to be a ceramic! It is a great looking combination.

It looks like a 62XX of course.

Imagine what Rolex have in the stores. They could easily have gifted him a number of LNIB vintages at his request.

They are paying him millions of dollars each year to be associated with him, why not pander to any requirement of his.

Did you actually sell one to Roger?

I think Rolex may take a dim view of one of their "Ambassadors" wearing a Mod.
