New Explorer II (42mm) in stores?
Have you seen the new Explorer II (42 mm) in stores? If not, does anyone know when they will hit the shelves?
Also, does anyone know if the new Explorer II will replace the old style, or are the larger ones going to be additional models to the existing style?

Well, that's interesting. If the 42mm is replacing the existing one, what happens to the unsold old stock? could there be both models available in stores until all the old ones go?

My AD told me that mid to late September they are slated to have 4 come in but are all sold. That is what he said. The next batch is for October.

Yes, that is what has happened previously with all models that have been changed.

I agree, but my ex-stepfather paid $10k+ over MSRP for a car. I couldn't do that. I would wait until the product is more available and get it then. By that time it will still be a very rare peice. I won't be getting an Exp II anyway.

Since this thread is been bump, what to ask the guys here what is the fair price of a slightly used white faced exp 2? 216570.
And do you think that the exp 2 will have a ceramic upgrade? Thanks! |

Never say never, given that even the Daytona's seem to be going with ceramic. However, if Rolex was going that route, I think they would have done it at the last upgrade, which was only last year.

Ah ok. I am really planning on getting a white faced exp 2. never had any white faced dial watch, so this will surely fit the bill.

Explorer 2
I love the way it looks in black with the floating hands in 42mm. Always loved the idea of Rolex but never loved one on my wrist before I tried this one on. First post on this board, longtime watch lover. Can I hear your thoughts on this Rolex versus others that might be more affordable for a first-timer?
