Congrats! I have a 1990 Speedy Pro with a 1450 bracelet and LOVE IT! It is my longest keeper and I would only sell it to a fund a 20th Anniversary version (or maybe the grail 376.0822).
Extra congrats on finding one from the U.S. numbered series (xxxx/2000). Those seem to be harder to find the European series that was not numbered on the case but only in the paperwork. |

Sorry about some of the blurry pics the iphone just doesn't take clear up and close photos blah. Also the weird part was the watch pillow was flaking quite a bit from probably being old, going to have to ziplock it and find another holder..blah besides that this watch looks to be in great shape!

Just seeing these now after seeing you posted it for sale. Looks to be in great condition and complete set.
It's a different variant than the ones I have seen or read about. Not that that means anything. Perhaps one of the US version, but the ones I have seen say "Apollo XI 1969" after the "xxxx/2000" engraving. Have you read anything about this? Possibly a fourth variant? Or maybe more like US version 1.0 while the others along the lines I referenced are US version 2.0. |

There were only 3 variants:
xxx/250 Apollo XI 1969 xxxx/2000 - xxxx/2000 Apollo XI 1969 (after 1000 they switched over to combined number and text) Apollo XI 1969 So it may seem like 4 different versions cause the second category is split into two. |

Interesting. Had never heard of the US version being split into two but it appears to be the case. A quick search found some other examples that support that lower numbers were engraved "xxxx/2000" and higher numbers were engraved "xxxx/2000 Apollo XI 1969."

Most of the one's I've seen with the engraving xxxx/2000 came on a 1450 bracelet while those in the higher numbers came on the 1479 bracelet much like category 3 limited series.

Yeah I've seen some from the worldwide version with a 1450 and some with a 1479. Never paid that close attention to the US version as those come up less often. I love the 1450 and probably wouldn't even consider any version with a 1479.

My 20th came on a 1479, my least favorite Speedy bracelet. Earlier 20th models came on a 1450, my favorite Speedy bracelet.
Omega made the change from the 1450 to 1479 in 1990. Had my 20th come with the 1450, I would probably have kept it (or at least the bracelet). Fortunately, I was eventually able to pick up a 1450. Fr. John† |
