Roller Ball advice sought. Don't even tell me about MB!!

I seek the cousel of the wise and humbly petition the brain trust so as to select my next pen, which i prefer to be a roller ball.

I have three MBs, and to be honest with you, could do without them.

My Meisterstuck fountain pen, which was a gift from my wife is truly an impressive piece, but required service and the service cost darned near as much as she paid for the pen.

My MB MS Ball point and pencil combo are also a disappointment. The pen never seems to extend all the way so the ball point barely protrudes from it's tube - it's akward and, frankly, embarrassing. The mechanical pencil is Ok but, to be blunt, is nothing that a 50-cent pencil couldn't do except, perhaps, impress others.

I'm in the market for a rolling writer and really like the G2 refill. I also culd go for something nice that accepts a Fisher Space pen refil.

Any suggestions for something in SS or similar?

I have 2 MB 149's - love them... For a roller... I have been very happy with the Cross Townsend (select tip roller). I have 2 that i've been using for over 10 years... Like them just as much as my MB's and cost a lot less too ;)

I also have a Cross Townsend and like the pen, but the MB RB would be my top pick.

Check out the Pelikan RB's. They flow very nicely, No skipping and are more reasonably priced....relatively anyway.
I just noticed you were looking for a SS pen, check out Porsche design as well as Cross century. Also, waterman Hemisphere.
Good luck.

This is impossible. Either you are using other than montblanc issued refills or the pen is broken or a counterfeit. There are alot of Meisterstuck counterfeits in circulation. I would suggest you have it authenticated bij a MB Boutique.

Why not look at the Fisher Space line of pens since you like their refills. They have many models to choose from and are quite nice. Also Waterman makes very nice rollerballs but I currently use and recommend good quality fountain pens!!!

I was at MB yesterday and the pen they gave me to sign the reciept did the same thing.

To the OP, I had an opportunity to play with a Dupont RB, and it was the best RB I've ever used...

MB BP ....place a small piece of crumpled paper at the back of the refill, then you can have the point sticking out 1-2mm more.I do this with my MB MS LeG I use Monteverde Gel refills broad in this pen.Writes like a DREAM,BUT ........lasts about a day !! The Monteverde refills are also slightly longer.

Have used many cheapy rollerball/Gel pens and its VERY difficult to beat a Pilot G2 1.0 and a Uni-Ball Signo broad.

You don't want a Montblanc, get a bic! Inexpensive and writes very well! Get the medium! My MB 144 rollerball is like a dream to write with...but I agree with you on the MB ballpoints, they barely protrude from the tube!
