SMPO 42mm or 45.5

Okay so I am buying a smpo tommorow and wondering If I should go 42mil or 45.5. I used to be leaning towards the 42 until the AD talked me out of it completely by saying that most girls wear a 42mm watch now and on you the 45.5 looks alot better not to mention your getting more watch for the same price. What do you gentlemen think.

Most girls wear a 40mm while most really big girls wear a 42mm LOL. Get the 45.5 if it doesn't look silly on your wrist. I love the new size of the SMPO.

Your AD fed you garbage. You ought to decide based on which of the two sizes sings to you.

What's your wrist size? If the lugs hang over the edges of your wrist when looked upon from above at a 90 degree angle, then the watch in question might just be too big for you. IMPO, oversizing is a fashion trend and will fade away eventually.

On the other hand Charlize Theron was spotted with a Deepsea, which means her wrists must be the size of my butcher's.

As for that SM PO, my left wrist is 7" and it was too big for me. On top of width/length the case is also very high. Just my tuppence.

PS: As for your ADs "more watch for the same price", what a complete nincompoop. Wasn't aware that watches are sold by lbs. nowadays...

Disregard what your AD said, get whichever size looks good on you. Here is my 45.5 on a 7inch wrist, I think a 42 would look better but I got the 45.5 because I have never had a BIG watch before :D

I reckon Craig is the real deal Bond, worst bond IMHO was Dalton (far too nervous).

Anyway I have the 42mm PO on a bracelet but exchange between that and the black rubber.

Personally I think the 42mm PO is by far the better proportioned watch.

Your AD is an idiot. I'd buy whatever YOU want. Personally, I would consider the larger size only if your wrist is over 7".

My wrist is 7 1/2" but round. I could never decide between the 42 and the 45 until the PO Liquidmetal made the decision for me:



IMO the 42 is the more practical.

When you try them both on they really don't seem much different on the wrist. I personally like the 42 because the bezel looks better to me. The spacing on the 45's bezel seems a bit funky.

I tried both - the proportions of the 42mm seemed to fit better. I have a GMT2C and a couple Panerai (that I don't even wear any more).

The 42 looks better to me.

Try them both and see which you like better.

Had a 45.5 then thought it was too big
So I'd say 42!

I have 42.. but after wearing a pam, it feel very small - still nice though
if I can choose again probably I go with 45.5

I was faced with this very dilemma last year when I purchased my PO. I tried on both size watches at the Boutique in LA before getting in touch with Fr. John’s contact. Disregard what the AD told you and go with the size you feel more comfortable with. As far as proper sizing, I have read what another member posted about whether the lugs stick out beyond the edges of your wrist. The lugs were right at the edge of my wrist and I could have gone either way, but I went with the 42mm and I’m happy I did. It is what I felt comfortable with. The AD was trying to sell me the larger watch also and basing it on fashion. However, fashion changes. Here today and gone tomorrow.
